Lepat Bekhas is a small dish typical of the Alas Tribe whose presence is mandatory when Eid al-Fitr arrives. This dish is suitable to be served either as a complement at dawn or as an appetizer. This wajik-like snack is made from white glutinous rice flour and several other spices such as sugar, salt, and coconut milk.

The taste of the glutinous rice is more legit and delicious with the addition of durian flesh before the dough is printed and wrapped in banana leaves. For durian lovers, this snack is worth trying. Here's the recipe for Lepat Bekhas

Materials :

400 grams of white glutinous rice, soaked in boiled water for 2 hours

300 grams of mashed durian flesh

Banana leaves as a mold

Pandan leaves

250 ml liquid coconut milk

Medium coconut milk 200 ml

Coconut sugar 400 grams

Sugar 100 grams

Salt 1/2 tsp

How to make :

Cook the glutinous rice together with pandan leaves and liquid coconut milk until half cooked and fragrant.

Heat coconut milk with coconut sugar and sugar until dissolved.

Add the durian flesh to the coconut milk solution with sugar, cook until thick.

Add the cooked glutinous rice.

Take about two tablespoons of dough, put it in a banana leaf, wrap it by folding the banana leaf side inward. Make sure no dough comes out.

Steam for 20 minutes.

Once cooked, cut into slices. Lepat Bekhas is ready to be served.
