Trekking 2-3 Day Ketambe Adventure

Ketambe Adventure - On this fun and adventure 3-day jungle trek, we'll dive deeper into the tropical rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park - exploring the unique vegetation and wildlife of the region.

You will spend the night at two different peaceful campsites in the jungle one of which is a hidden campground by the river and the other near the gurah hot springs.

On the path step by step your eyes and ears will be trained to see various endemic plants and listen to the unique sounds of birds.

You also have great opportunities to traverse the paths of Thomas Leaf Monkeys, White Handed Pigtai Gibbons Monkeys, Sumatran peacocks and of course, wild Orangutans, because we will be hacking our way through thickets and steep roads, you have to be physically fit to overcome the dense forest. challenging and certainly very fun to pass.

Travel plans

Day 1

Rainforest Trekking Orangutan Areas:

You will be picked up from the guesthouse by your tour guide, after breakfast we continue through the secondary forest and explore the wildlife

You can find wild animals such as Orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, Black Gibbons, Monkeys, Lizards, Siamang, various birds (Enggang birds etc) and snakes.

There are hot springs and waterfalls to enjoy, the trip is a maximum of 3 hours before lunch and 2-3 hours after, lunch will be served on the way, dinner and overnight by the river in jungle camps.

Day 2

Trekking Rain Forest, Waterfalls and Hot Springs, the next morning, after breakfast we will climb the hill of the Gurah river to the Ketambe waterfall.

Lunch will be served on the way, overnight camp will be built next to hot springs in the middle of the forest, where you can take a refreshing bath in the hot springs which are warm and perfect for relaxing your body, it will be a brilliant day to explore the flora and fauna in the rainforest of Sumatra.

3rd day

Rainforest Trekking back to Guest House:

On the last day of our adventure in the jungle, we will return to the road to the guesthouse.

After breakfast, we start to cross the secondary forest and its rivers, you can see wild animals along the way, lunch will be served on the way, dinner and overnight at the guesthouse.

Equipment you need to bring:

• Mosquito repellent

• Raincoat (If it rains)

• Medicines (if needed)

• Small flashlight

• 2 shirts (cotton),

• 2 pairs of socks.

• a pair of shorts or long pants

TREKKING TO ELEPHANTS 3 - 4 DAYS Ketambe Adventure

Ketambe Adventure - On this fun and adventurous 3-4 day jungle trek, we will dive deeper into the tropical rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park - exploring the unique vegetation and wildlife of the region. You will spend the night at three different peaceful campsites in the jungle. One is a hidden campsite on the banks of the secon hot spring river and the other on elephant hill. On the 'eyes and ears of the forest' trail you are trained to see various endemic plants and listen to the sounds of birds. You also have a great chance to traverse the trails of White Handed Gibbons, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, Pigtail Monkeys, Sumatran peacocks and of course, wild Orangutans! As we will be hacking your way through thickets and steep roads, you will need to be physically fit to tackle the challenging jungle! Including Travel

Requirements Age above 4 years Physically fit Itinerary 

Day 01: FOREST TREKKING AREA After breakfast at the guesthouse, we will start trekking in the Ketambe forest area, crossing dense forests, exploring Sumatran wildlife such as Orang Utan, Thomas Leaf mokeys, Black Gibbons, masks, lizards, gibbons, birds (Hombil) snakes and many more. There will be a maximum of 3 hours of trekking before lunch. Lunch will be served on the way. After lunch, continue trekking for another 2-3 hours. Before sunset we will set up camp overnight beside the river in the middle of the forest, while you can bathe in the refreshing river. 

DAY 02: FOREST WATERFALL AND SEASONS HOT After breakfast we will trekking down the hill to the waterfall. Lunch will be served on the way. An overnight camp will be set up next to a hot spring in the middle of the forest, while you can freshen up with a warm bath in the hot springs. 

Day 03: Elephant Hill After breakfast, we will trekking to elephant hill back through the jungle overnight camp we will build on elephant hill in the sound of jungle, while you can do your own meditation 

DAY 04: ELEPHANT BUKIT After breakfast, we will trekking back to the guesthouse from elepehants hill back through the forest to ketambe / guesthouse, lunch will be served on the way, dinner and overnight at the guesthouse items to take
